Everyone fears diabetes and I am sure you must have come across at least one such person who was instructed by your doctor to work on his diet or to start doing morning walks or advised to lose weight immediately. I know many people who have diabetes and as soon as they discovered that they have diabetes, their lifestyle changed drastically. I was recently talking to a dietitian friend who said that if one is aware about the symptoms and conditions, dealing with diabetes would become easier and people would able to handle it effectively.
Now, I know and the world knows that Diabetes is one of the leading causes of deaths in India, US and other parts of the world. In India, there are more than 50 Million diabetics which is the largest contributor to the diabetics patient of the world.

When I said that the lifestyle of a diabetics patient changes a lot, here are a couple of ways by which you can improve the quality of your life and health:
Check what you eat: One should understand the difference between Need and Want i.e. one should only eat what the body needs and not what you Want. One should eat everything in moderation and try to avoid processed foods, fried foods, fast foods and instead should focus more on organic foods, whole grain cereals, vegetables to increase fibers.
Weight Watch: Being a diabetics patient doesn’t means that one should go on a weight reduction spree but the idea is to keep a check on the body weight and if you have to reduce weight, always consult an expert before doing so. Weight loss is not easy but if you do it discipline, the effects are wonderful.
Workout: Everyone should workout regularly but people have the tendency to confuse workout with body-building. Here, I would like to say that workout doesn’t means building muscles but workout here means being fit. Every diabetics patient should exercise regularly and elderly people can simply start morning walk as it is simple and in fact the best way to be fit.
